In the XataWorks Assistant
On websites that carry the XataWorks Assistant, such as the Parliament and BC Legislature explorers, the Assistant works the site’s own data for you. No installation needed.
One balance
Your monthly AI allowance is shared across the browser and the Assistant. Use it wherever you work; there is no separate balance to manage for each one.
Usage you can see, not a number of chats.
AI costs depend on the work. A short question uses far less than a long research task across hundreds of records, so XataWorks does not promise a fixed number of chats.

Pro includes an allowance of AI usage each month, measured in US dollars of model usage at the rates of the models you choose.
Model choice
XataWorks AI offers a range of models, from fast and inexpensive to highly capable. A lighter model makes your allowance go further.
More when you need it
If you use your allowance before the month is out, add AI credit from your XataWorks account. It works across the same experiences.
Canadian AI
Built in Canada. Your data, your choice.
XataWorks is designed and built by Web Lite Solutions in Vancouver, and our servers are in Toronto data centres.
Canada-only
Turn on Canada-only, and XataWorks AI uses only models hosted in Canada. Some of the largest models are not hosted in Canada, so they are unavailable with Canada-only on.
No data retention
XataWorks AI only sends requests to model providers that offer zero data retention and do not collect request data. If a model has no such provider, the request fails rather than going elsewhere.
Your own files stay yours
In the browser, your files and chats are stored on your computer. When you make a request, the content it needs is sent for AI processing.
Prefer your own AI provider?
XataWorks AI is a choice, not a requirement. In XataWorks Browser you can connect a provider of your own instead.
A Claude or ChatGPT plan
Sign in with a Claude or ChatGPT plan for the chats you have yourself. Your plan’s own terms and limits apply.
An API key
Add an API key from Anthropic, OpenAI or OpenRouter. Agents working in the background and scheduled prompts have no window to sign in from, so they use a stored API key.
What your plan covers
A consumer Claude or ChatGPT plan is not the same as API access: each provider bills its API separately. Your own account works under that provider’s terms, not ours.
